Yards filled with native plants often don’t look like the tidy lawns many people expect.  Many neighbors see these as “messy” and so “neglected.”   We will discuss how you can have an ecologically rich yard AND show it’s cared for!

For our September Wild Ones WNY event we will be open to the public at the public library in Cheektowaga.   Board members Ken Parker and Devon Southall will be sharing examples of what Wild Ones calls “Cues to Care”  and leading a collaborative discussion of other ways we can show care in our gardens.   Mix and Mingle at 6pm, presentation 6:30-7:30 (Library closes at 8pm)

Even after reading books and attending talks, many still have pressing questions about ecological landscaping. In this talk, Tallamy addresses common concerns on biodiversity, invasive species, native plants, and conservation strategies, providing practical guidance and motivation to restore nature in everyday spaces. 

This meeting is open to the public. We will have an opening educational presentation followed by chapter updates and opportunities to get involved.  We look forward to seeing you!
