Wild Ones WNY wrapped up another wonderful community gathering with our Social & Native Plant Seed Share at the Audubon Branch Library in Amherst. Members and non-members came together to learn, connect, and share an impressive array of locally native plant seeds.
A Night of Learning and Sharing
Participants enjoyed a warm mix-and-mingle atmosphere followed by a brief presentation from Board member Kathy Contrino, who demonstrated milk jug winter sowing techniques. Her step-by-step guidance gave attendees confidence to start their own native seeds at home this winter.
The Seed Share was a highlight of the evening, with at least six contributors offering more than 25 different native plant varieties. Attendees were invited to take seeds home and many left with exciting additions for their future pollinator gardens.
Building Community Through Native Plants
The event welcomed both longtime members and newcomers, giving everyone a chance to learn about seed starting, ask questions, and exchange tips. Volunteers assisted guests with seed information forms, and the group enjoyed lovely refreshments that made the evening even more inviting.
Thank You to Our Community
Thank you to everyone who attended, shared seeds, volunteered, or contributed to the welcoming environment that defines Wild Ones WNY. Events like these help strengthen our community of native plant enthusiasts across Western New York.
We look forward to many more learning and sharing opportunities in the year ahead!
